lib_mysqludf_fPROJ4 script details A Cartesian coordinate system is a coordinate system that specifies each point uniquely in a plane by a pair of numerical coordinates. It is a very used system and can be recognized by the famous X and Y axis coordinates system.
lib_mysqludf_fPROJ4 takes latitude and longitude coordinates and transforms them into projections on an X and Y axis system.
The reverse operation, from a Cartesian system to geographical coordinates, is also supported.
lib_mysqludf_fPROJ4 is currently used in live production GIS applications like PostGIS and Mapnik, just to name few of the many software applications that uses it.
